Job summary

USG is seeking a manufacturing operator at our Westlake, Ohio facility to ensure product quality and process safety. You will operate production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and record production data in the MDIS system, including during changeovers while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

This role requires flexibility for shift work, possible overtime and weekend hours, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Work safely in a manufacturing setting following plant safety rules.
  • Learn to operate and troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • Interpret verbal and written work instructions.
  • Apply basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Take measurements to verify product within specifications.
  • Maintain familiarity with common hand tools and proper usage.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication; maintain regular attendance.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a manufacturing setting.
  • Responsible for operating production equipment, including troubleshooting and making the necessary adjustments to ensure product and quality specifications are met.
  • Recording of production data and other results in the manner required.
  • Apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
  • Expected to take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
  • Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
  • Responsible for changing settings on equipment during changeovers.
  • Responsible for properly recording all production numbers into MDIS system.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow all plant safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Ability to learn to operate and troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • Ability to interpret verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
  • Proficiency at taking measurements as needed to verify product is within specifications.
  • Possess basic maintenance skills, including familiarity with common hand tools and how to properly use them (Hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife, etc.).
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
