Job summary

ERCOT is seeking engineers to support the reliable operation and planning of the Texas electric grid. The role emphasizes engineering analysis, tool development, and cross‑functional collaboration with Operations and Planning teams in Taylor, TX.

The position expects experience levels from entry to senior, with on-site requirements and potential remote work from a Texas residence. A PE license is preferred, and knowledge of JS/Vue/Angular, Python, SQL, and GIS tools is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Equivalent education/experience accepted.
• PE Professional Engineer (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develops and prototypes tools to assist control room Operators, Outage Coordinators, Operations and Planning Engineers in data analysis for grid reliability.
• Interacts with Project Teams to implement new tools and system changes in production environments.
• Develops and maintains analytical tools used by System Operators for situational awareness.
