Job summary

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking a Parks Greenway Construction Supervisor to plan and oversee Greenway Construction Crew operations, including inspections, trail construction and grading, asphalt installation, pipe replacement, bridge abutment replacement and repair, and general repairs to shoulders.

The supervisor also administers the budget by planning and purchasing supplies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of college in Construction Management or related field.
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, manages, and evaluates assigned employees and makes decisions about hiring, discipline and/or termination of employees.
• Prioritizes and assigns work and develops staff schedules.
• Coordinates with other crews and departments for event/project setup and management.
• Oversees day-to-day activities and projects performed by the Greenway Construction crew.
• Plans and coordinates construction practices and maintenance.
• Reviews and closes out work orders and verifies payroll.

Education

Associate degree in Construction Management

2 Years of College in Construction Management

5–7 years of construction experience
