Job summary

The Patch, Augusta, GA, is seeking a Greenskeeper to support maintenance at The Patch under Bobby Jones Links. The role includes assisting with fertilizer and pesticide programs and safely operating maintenance equipment.

You will also help maintain logs, inspect machinery, and contribute to keeping the course and its surroundings in top condition. This position requires physical effort in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the implementation of all fertilizer and pesticide programs.
• Safely operates the maintenance equipment.
• Maintains maintenance and oil/gas logs on equipment.

• Reports any mechanical issues to the Superintendent.
• Loads and unloads material.
• Maintains the course and its surroundings (grass, trees, plants, bushes, waste canisters).
• Assists with special projects.

Opened in 1928, Augusta Municipal Golf Course, known locally as The Patch, has long been a gathering place in the community for those who love the game. In 2023, Masters Tournament Charities, Augusta Technical College and The First Tee of Augusta entered into a partnership to revitalize this historic property and preserve it for future generations. The Patch, managed by Bobby Jones Links, features a redesigned 18-hole course, led by golf course architects, Tom Fazio and Beau Welling, and a new 9-hole short course, The Loop at The Patch, designed by Tiger Woods and TGR Design.

The Patch is hiring for Greenskeepers.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assists with the implementation of all fertilizer and pesticide programs.
• Safely operates the maintenance equipment.
• Maintains maintenance and oil/gas logs on equipment.
• Cleans and inspects machinery before and after each use.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling.
• Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
