Job summary

Shangri-La Resort on Monkey Island is seeking enthusiastic seasonal workers to perform daily maintenance on the golf course under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent. Prior landscaping or golf course experience is a plus.

Applicants must be 18+, able to lift 30 lbs, and willing to work in all weather conditions. A professional demeanor with guests and colleagues is required, and flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of golf course maintenance operations and guest services.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to maintain a professional status while interacting with customers.
• Must be able to maintain a professional working relationship with management and co-workers.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules.
• Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
• Must have the ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions
• Familiarity with the game of golf is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Use of handheld power equipment (weed eater, backpack blower, hand edger, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, etc.)
• Manual labor (shoveling, pruning, sod work, raking and maintaining bunkers)
• Operation of golf course equipment, including but not limited to:
• Bunker Raking Sandpro
• Reel Mowers for tees, approaches, greens and fairways.
• Rough mowers
• Greens Roller
• Utility carts

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the employee will perform daily maintenance tasks required for upkeep of the golf course as well as any special projects. Previous experience in landscaping and/or golf courses is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use of handheld power equipment (weed eater, backpack blower, hand edger, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, etc.)
