TPC Boston is a private par-72, 7,241-yard golf course located in Norton, MA. Originally designed by the legendary player/designer Arnold Palmer, TPC Boston’s award-winning layout was redesigned in 2007 by Gil Hanse. The golf course is crafted to fit seamlessly into the natural New England landscape and excels in the areas of resource conservation, water quality management, integrated pest management, wildlife/habitat management and education/outreach. The Equipment Operator II has been specifically trained to operate specialized equipment and/or to perform specific tasks relative to the maintenance of the golf course grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Must have 6 months experience as an Equipment Operator I or at least one year of experience in golf course operations or similar position
• Education in turfgrass management, or related field, may be substituted for work experience requirement
• Valid driver's license required

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Perform all duties and/or tasks relative to the Equipment Operator I position
• Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each machine
• Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe
• Clean machinery after each use
• Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Technician
• Perform other functions and routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent II
• Be thoroughly trained for the procedures at each task prior to performing task
• Follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task
• Perform specific tasks related to the Operator I and II training including the following:
  • Tri-plex mow tees
  • Tri-plex mow approaches
  • Tri-plex mow fairway collar
  • Tri-plex mow rough
  • Aerify greens and tees
  • Spike greens
  • Vertical mow greens and tees
  • Mechanical top dress greens and tees
  • Operate sod cutter
  • Mechanical bunker raking
  • Drainage Installation and repair
• Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards
• Special projects or other duties as assigned
