Job summary

Sarasota National Club in Venice, FL is hiring a Greenskeeper to support course maintenance during a large renovation in 2026. The role includes landscaping design, equipment operation, and applying pesticides and fertilizers to sustain healthy turf.

The Greenskeeper will work across greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding areas, maintaining clean workspaces and coordinating with the maintenance team during grow-in. Excellent communication and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
• Must possess the ability to design, coordinate and maintain landscaping on the golf course.
• Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course maintenance.
• Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation.
• Must be dependable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility.
• Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas.
• Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water.
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary.
• Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways.
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds.
• Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course.
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Description

The Greenskeeper is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Sarasota National is experiencing a full golf course renovation in 2026. During the renovation, this position will require construction-related activities in addition to normal golf course maintenance requirements during the course grow-in.
