Job summary

DNU-Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, MO seeks a grounds maintenance team member to perform diverse tasks on the golf course and surrounding grounds. This on-site role involves operating small equipment, grooming the course, and assisting with general maintenance to keep the course pristine.

The ideal candidate has minimal formal education, is able to lift 35 pounds, and can work outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• No formal education required or up to one month related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to read and speak English for job duties and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform general landscape maintenance with hand tools.
• Rake and maintain sand bunkers.
• Operate small machinery to edge, trim and mow.
• Prepare soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
• Assist with golf course set-up procedures.
• Operate utility vehicles to haul material and remove debris.
• Perform skilled duties related to pruning and planting.
• Ensure equipment is kept in good, clean working condition.
• Maintain a clean golf course and maintenance complex.
• Report equipment problems to supervisor and follow safety rules.
• Demonstrate courtesy to Members and Guests; attend to duties promptly.

Description

Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Responsible for operating small equipment and performing all general hands‑on grooming of the golf course and grounds. Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required.

• Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment.
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
• Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material. Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
• Assists with golf course set-up procedures.
• Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
• Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
• Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Keeps all equipment in good, clean working condition.
• Maintains a clean golf course and maintenance complex.
• Reports all problems regarding equipment to the Mechanic and or Assistant Superintendent.
• Completes duties as directed by supervisor in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates courtesy to all Members and Guests at all times.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Obeys all safety procedures
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly talks or hears. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and works near moving mechanical part. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and experiences.

Valid Driver’s License
