Job summary

Troon is hiring a Greenskeeper for The Monster in New York. You will maintain the golf course landscapes, mow greens and fairways, water and irrigate as needed, and support soil prep and planting duties. Beginner-friendly—no prior experience required, though basic grounds knowledge helps.

We value safety and teamwork; expect flexible hours, including golf season peaks and holidays. Valid driver's license is required to operate equipment and follow course protocols.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
• Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas
• Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary
• Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
• Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Beginner Greenskeepers are welcome – while knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred, previous experience is not required for the position.

Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work extended hours during golf and holiday season, as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e., the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English)

• Noise level is moderate
