Job summary

The City of Baltimore seeks a Greenhouse Supervisor to oversee indoor and outdoor horticultural work, including municipal conservatories, office plantings and seasonal displays. You will supervise horticultural staff and coordinate planting projects across facilities.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in horticulture or equivalent experience, and at least one year of supervisory duties; a Maryland Class C Noncommercial license is required, with pesticide license within one year.

Qualifications

• Education must be a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from an accredited college or university.
• AND Experience: One year of supervisory responsibilities in disciplining, evaluating performance, hiring/firing and promoting others.
• Equivalency Notes: High school diploma or GED with five years of horticulture, landscape or floral design experience.
• Licenses/Certificates: Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license and Baltimore City permit; provisional licenses not acceptable.
• Pesticide Application license required within one year of appointment.
