Job summary

The Plant Growth Facilities Greenhouse Operator at the University of Minnesota Saint Paul campus is responsible for the daily operation of research and teaching greenhouses and outdoor nursery facilities. This hands-on role works with researchers, staff, and students to maintain safe, functional environments and to manage irrigation, fertilization, and inventory.

The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and the ability to operate greenhouse systems, apply pesticides, and coordinate schedules

Qualifications

• BS in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, or equivalent education/experience.
• Pesticide application experience.
• Ability to obtain MN Pesticide Applicator's License.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Pesticide application in greenhouse and nursery settings.
• Facilities operations including irrigation, benches, and lighting systems.
• Greenhouse systems operation and monitoring of equipment and environmental controls.
