Job summary

Ball Horticultural Company is seeking a Grower to support breeding, product development and culture research. You will manage plant health, watering, fertilizing, PGRs, and pest control across assigned zones while maintaining crop quality for research trials and events.

You will participate in IPM, biocontrol releases, and routine pesticide applications, requiring strong organization, teamwork, and the ability to work in hot, humid greenhouse conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in greenhouse production and pest management required.
• Illinois Pesticide Operator’s License to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Proficiency with MS Office and record keeping systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Grow plants for breeding, trials, and events including watering and fertilizing.
• Identify pests and diseases and advise Greenhouse Manager on corrective actions.
• Participate in IPM, scouting, and weekly biocontrol releases.
• Assist with soil and water testing data collection and record keeping.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility.
