Job summary

Devereux is seeking a Greenhouse Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental needs in a residential greenhouse setting near Goleta. You will support daily agricultural activities, coach life and job skills, and help participants with personal care and social interactions.

Ideal candidates are patient, compassionate, and able to work outdoors. Responsibilities include behavior support, transportation, and fostering community integration while ensuring a safe, inclusive

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
One year of human service experience preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Must pass background checks and Livescan; complete two weeks of paid training.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals in greenhouse daily activities (planting, watering, harvesting).
Provide guidance in vocational and job-readiness skills within the greenhouse.
Support with personal care and hygiene as needed.
Assist with social cues and appropriate workplace interactions.
Provide behavioral support and positive strategies for challenging behaviors.
Assist with mobility support and safe ambulation.
