This role involves leading landowner engagement, securing site control for large-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States, and working with cross-functional teams to drive early-stage project development.

Savion is seeking an experienced and motivated Greenfield Project Developer to originate new utility-scale solar, battery energy storage system (BESS), and energy infrastructure projects across the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating landowner outreach, securing site control, and advancing early-stage development activities.
This role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams including internal staff and external consultants with expertise in project siting, GIS, engineering, permitting, environmental studies, real estate/title, and transmission. Prior experience initiating utility-scale solar or wind development is strongly preferred. While technical expertise is not required, strong judgment, persistence, resilience, and leadership are essential.
Responsibilities
· Create and manage landowner engagement campaigns across multiple states and markets.
· Lead landowner outreach and negotiate lease and purchase agreements to secure site control for projects ranging from 500 to 20,000 acres.
· Support the identification and screening of new project opportunities.
· Coordinate critical issues analysis, including local, state, and federal permitting processes.
· Lead project interconnection application processes across multiple ISOs and RTOs.
· Coordinate title curative and mineral rights waiver processes as needed.
· Transition early-stage projects to regional development teams once key milestones are achieved.
· Travel up to 35%+ of the time is required.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced or technical degree preferred.
· Experience in commercial real estate negotiations (options, leases, purchase & sale agreements) is required.
· Familiarity with agricultural and timberland markets is strongly preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of development experience in the renewable energy industry is required.
· Knowledge of interconnection, regulatory, and legislative frameworks in the renewable energy sector is preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
· Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities and dynamic market conditions.
· Title and compensation commensurate with experience.
