Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is seeking a Green Manufacturing – Lead Engineer to advance environmental and operational performance across North American facilities, leading energy optimization, sustainability integration, and decarbonization roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Environmental, or related).
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, environmental engineering, sustainability, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to work effectively across functions and manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and benchmark environmental performance metrics including energy cost, energy efficiency, Scope 1 and 2 CO2, water, waste, and related resource consumption.
• Develop, maintain, and integrate utility performance data systems to support accurate reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
• Conduct and lead plant assessments, audits, and evaluations to identify conservation, optimization, and emissions reduction opportunities.
• Manage projects to drive sustainability and operational improvements, including scope development, business case creation, engineering design, implementation planning, resource requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Validate project performance, energy savings, emissions reductions, and resource conservation results using established engineering methodologies.
• Contribute to the planning and development of engineering and sustainability strategy to align resources on objectives.
• Manage technology evaluations, pilot programs, feasibility studies, and industrialization efforts for emerging green manufacturing technologies.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure sustainability, energy metering, digitalization, and resource efficiency principles are part of our design DNA.
• Work with procurement on budgeting forecasts and power contracts to ensure alignment of procurement strategies and accurate budgeting.
• Maintain engineering standards, tools, methodologies, and best practices for Green Manufacturing programs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
