Job summary

RTI International is seeking a Chemical Pilot Plant Technician for the Sustainable Energy Solutions group in Morris, Minnesota. This hands-on role operates within a 24/7 pilot plant environment, with shifts including daytime and overnight hours, and may require weekends and holidays.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years of hands-on chemical/process operations experience, plus familiarity with lab or pilot-scale equipment and analytical instrumentation such as GC and gas analyzers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 10+ years hands-on experience or Associate's Degree with 5+ years in a related field.
• Strong foundation in chemical or process operations and hands-on experience with lab or pilot-scale equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot pilot-scale systems including reactors, pumps, compressors, and separation equipment.
• Support experimental campaigns by identifying process deviations and communicating issues to engineering staff.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments such as gas chromatographs and gas analyzers.
• Record and analyze operational data, preparing clear summaries, charts, and reports.
• Assist in developing and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs).
