Job summary

San Diego State University seeks a collaborative Student Life Advisor to support SDSU’s fraternity and sorority communities through guidance, education, and programming that promote student engagement. You will advise chapters and councils, develop leadership opportunities, and foster responsible organizational practices on campus.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with related coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field may substitute for one year of experience.
• A doctorate or internship in counseling may substitute for three years of experience for roles with major counseling responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Advise fraternities, sororities, and student leaders on operations, policies, and development.
• Provide guidance on risk management and accountability within Greek life.
• Coordinate leadership retreats, workshops, and recruitment activities.
• Collaborate with students, alumni, and campus partners to foster positive Greek life experiences.
• Support student staff, maintain records, and contribute to program assessment.
