Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking a mid-level Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Engineer to join our security and AI governance team. You will set standards, design controls, and automate compliance to enable fast, safe shipping of AI systems.

You will collaborate across engineering, legal, product, and leadership to keep audit-ready across enterprise, commercial, and public-sector environments. The role emphasizes translating requirements into technical controls, embedding compliance into architecture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, cybersecurity, or a STEM field.
• 3+ years in GRC, security compliance, or tech-audit roles with hands-on GRC engineering.
• Experience implementing security compliance frameworks in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Expert-level knowledge of SOC 2, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and ISO 42001.
• Experience with Compliance-as-Code and GRC automation tooling (Vanta, Drata, or similar).
• Ability to map objectives to real IT/cloud configurations and work with engineers on remediation.

Responsibilities

• Execute security compliance implementation and audits across SOC 2, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and EU AI Act.
• Build and maintain Compliance-as-Code and continuous compliance capabilities.
• Operate and extend GRC platforms (e.g., Vanta) as the system of record for controls and audit readiness.
• Partner with engineering to embed compliance early in design reviews and CI/CD.
• Develop and improve corporate policies, standards, and procedures for governance and AI management.
• Assess and prioritize AI/ML, cybersecurity, privacy, IP, and cloud deployment risks.
• Lead risk assessments and compliance reviews for new products and model deployments.
• Cultivate relationships with external auditors and regulators for audit readiness.
• Champion security and compliance culture across the company.
