GrayWolf is seeking Pipefitters at our Rincon, GA Maintenance Contract - Working 4-10's

Summary:

A Journeyman Pipefitter performs and knows how to fabricate butt weld pipe, threaded pipe, and socket weld pipe; is able to identify and install above-ground, underground, and specialty piping, hangers, supports, valves, and inline specialties; and understands stress relieving, aligning, and testing. A Journeyman Pipefitter masters mathematical functions and their applications to pipefitting. They are also proficient with hand tools, power tools, and equipment, including rigging tools and procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Work safely around hazards associated with pipefitting.
  • Use hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely.
  • Demonstrate competency in construction math, including fractions, decimals, geometry, formulas, and trigonometry.
  • Identify parts, types of drawings, and interpret drawing indexes and line lists.
  • Read and interpret piping arrangement drawings, GPS coordinates, control points, elevations, P&ID’s, plan views, section views, and isometric drawings.
  • Identify and install valves, understanding their purpose, types, and actuators, and properly handle and store them.
  • Identify types of pipe hangers and supports, interpret drawings and symbols, and determine hanger placement. Install and maintain variable and constant spring supports.
  • Fabricate threaded piping systems, understanding materials, thread types, and calculating offsets.
  • Identify fittings, interpret pipe drawings, and perform socket weld and butt weld fabrication.
  • Identify and safely operate rigging equipment including chain hoists, come-alongs, and jacks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of heavy industrial field experience as a Pipefitter.
  • Ability to perform material take-offs, calculate offsets, and rigging.
  • Possess necessary tools and locking toolbox to perform the job.
  • Successfully complete all pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Move in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility required.
  • Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperature conditions and outdoor environments.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Wear PPE including safety footwear and prescription safety glasses or eye shields.
