Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Austin seeks Software Engineers to optimize performance for the Graviton platform. You will work on performance across open source projects, internal services, and customer applications, spanning Linux kernel development to C++/Rust debugging and assembly-level optimization.

You’ll contribute to a diverse set of workloads, including databases, web services, games, video encoding, ML, and HPC, while learning from experts and expanding your technical breadth and depth.

Qualifications

• Experience in performance optimization for complex software systems.
• Familiarity with open source development processes and contribution practices.
• Strong debugging and profiling skills using standard tools.

Responsibilities

• Enhance architectures and algorithms for optimal performance.
• Use tools like Aperf, sysstat, sysctl, perf to identify bottlenecks.
• Monitor and analyze processor, OS, and workload metrics.
• Optimize software performance for AWS customers and AWS services.
• Contribute to Linux kernel improvements and other open source projects.
• Develop analysis frameworks and automation systems.
• Enhance APerf and create new performance analysis features.
