Job summary

UNLV is seeking a Custodial Worker II for the Graveyard shift at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The role includes cleaning Health Center areas, gym spaces and offices to maintain a safe, hygienic facility 24/7 coverage with three shifts.

Responsibilities include trash removal, floor care, carpet cleaning, restroom maintenance, equipment upkeep, and unlocking/opening the facility. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and custodial experience; background check is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment.
• Six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment.
• Six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service or an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Trash removal; sweeping; mopping; stripping/waxing floors; buffing floors; vacuuming and shampooing of carpets; restroom maintenance; window washing; daily office cleaning; upkeep of storage rooms; repairing of miscellaneous equipment; moving and polishing of furniture; operating machinery (low speed buffer, carpet extractor, walk behind auto scrubber and ride-on auto scrubber).
• Locking and opening the facility; and various other duties as assigned.
