Job summary

We Are CASA Inc. seeks a Community Organizer to identify and foster grassroots leadership, recruit members, run local committees, and mobilize for actions.

The role involves field outreach, training participation, and representing the organization in media and legislative settings. Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish with a strong commitment to social justice, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to drive community members as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to social justice.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable car.
• Comfortable driving passengers in a van or personal vehicle.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• One-on-One grassroots outreach in the field.
• Identify and develop local leaders for organizing campaigns with Lead Organizer.
• Organize and maintain local committees with regular meetings.
• Engage members in state and national campaigns through mobilization.
• Facilitate organizational meetings, events, and trainings.
• Represent We Are CASA before media, legislators, and coalitions.
• Interpret for community members as needed to enable involvement.
• Track time and communications for proper reporting and lobbying distinctions.
• Support development and expansion of the organization.
• Meet deadlines and provide quality responses to members and partners.
