PIRG is seeking Campaign Associates to work on national campaigns or state-based campaigns, educating the public and building support for reforms that prioritize health and safety over special interests. The role requires discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, with opportunities to travel and engage diverse communities.

Ideal candidates will have leadership, strong writing and public speaking skills, and a willingness to learn.

• Willingness to travel regularly, including evenings and weekends.

Responsabilidades

• Educate and mobilize the public on PIRG issues through online and in-person outreach.
• Build coalitions with a broad range of organizations and constituencies.
• Earn traditional and social media attention by organizing news conferences and writing opinion pieces.
• Organize events and recruit volunteers, interns and staff.
• Lobby elected officials from city councils to state legislators.
• Research and write reports to influence public debate.
• Recruit new people to join the team and participate in campaigns.
• Run a grassroots campaign office during the summer with fundraising goals and team management.
• Participate in organizational projects and trainings across campaigns and tactics.
