Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Graphic and Editorial Design Expert for remote contract work. You will review designs against briefs, explain decisions in writing, and ensure layout and typography meet project requirements.

Ideal candidates have professional design experience (graphic/editorial/layout/publication) and can justify design choices in clear English. Daily use of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma is expected.

Qualifications

• Professional work as a graphic designer, editorial designer, layout designer, publication designer, art director, or brand designer.
• Daily use of professional tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma.
• Experience with real jobs including briefs, revisions, production files, and delivery to a client or publisher.
• Comfort explaining why one design works and another doesn't.
• Clear written English.

Compensation: $50 - $105/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week
