Job summary

Gwinc, a premier publishing services provider in St. Louis, MO, seeks a detail-oriented Compositor/Graphic Designer. You will design pages for medical, scientific, and educational materials, with emphasis on accuracy and accessibility.

Ideal candidates excel in InDesign, with CC tools knowledge, and can manage multiple projects to meet deadlines in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Exceptional skills in Adobe InDesign and CC applications.
• Experience with layout, revisions, and accessibility standards.
• Knowledge of ePub3 creation and outputs is a plus.
• Comfort with HTML or XML is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Layout of deliverables for educational materials and online works.
• Perform revisions of illustrations and content as needed.
• Ensure accessibility requirements are met across outputs.
• Produce digital deliverables including ePub and other formats.

Job description

Please note: This is a hybrid position based out of St. Louis, MO. Some in-office time is required.

GW, a premier publishing services provider, is seeking a detail-oriented page designer with experience in publications and Adobe InDesign to join our team as a Compositor/Graphic Designer.

The ideal candidate for this position has a mastery of InDesign skills, an attention to detail, a desire to problem-solve, and wants to make a positive contribution to learning and education. Projects require excellent time management and creative thinking skills.

As a Compositor/Graphic Designer your work will involve layout of various types of deliverables for educational purposes, such as medical, scientific, and trade books, magazines, and online works. Daily work could include design and page composition, revisions of illustration, accessibility, digital (ePub) deliverables, and more.

REQUIRED:

• Exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially InDesign, with knowledge about Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and other CC applications a plus
• Skill in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Skills and knowledge of automation of tasks through scripts
• ePub3 creation and knowledge of accessibility standards, various outputs, and deliverables a plus
• Knowledge of HTML or XML helpful
• Being comfortable working on multiple projects and multiple types of work
• Ability and willingness to solve problems
• Ability to work within deadlines
