Job summary

Gateway Church is seeking a Graphic Designer to create high-quality visual content across the organization, from campaigns to print collateral and digital assets. You will translate the Creative Lead's vision into polished, on-brand design work for internal and external publications.

You will use Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom) and AI design tools, collaborate with other communications teams, and ensure brand standards are maintained while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Designs and produces high-quality visual content for ministries and departments.
• Coordinates with Creative Lead and departments to gather project materials.
• Develops layouts from rough sketch to finished design.
• Prepares final, print- and publish-ready art and copy; coordinates photography and printing as needed.
• Uses Adobe Creative Cloud and AI tools to produce work efficiently.
• Collaborates with Communications team to align with goals and timelines.
• Consults with departments on project scope and design expectations.
• Upholds Gateway Church's brand standards across all work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: The Graphic Designer creates high-quality visual content that supports Gateway Church's creative needs across the whole organization, not limited to any single event, campaign, or ministry. Using design software, this role produces art, illustration, and layout for campaigns, print collateral, digital assets, and internal and external publications. The Graphic Designer fully supports the vision set by the Creative Lead and the Director of Communications, translating it into polished, on‑brand design work.

Principal Job Responsibilities

• Designs and produces high-quality visual content, including print collateral, digital assets, and campaign materials for ministries and departments across Gateway Church
• Coordinates with the Creative Lead, fellow designers, and requesting departments to gather the information and materials needed for each project
• Develops layouts and concepts, refining art, copy arrangement, typography, and related aesthetic elements from rough sketch to finished design
• Prepares final, print‑and publish‑ready art and copy, and assists with coordinating photography, artwork, and printing as needed
• Uses Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom) and other design and AI tools to produce work efficiently
• Collaborates with other Communications team disciplines to ensure design work aligns with project goals and timelines
• Consults with requesting departments on project scope and design expectations
• Upholds Gateway Church's brand standards across all creative work
• Performs other duties as assigned

General Skills & Qualifications

• Awareness of current design trends and best practices

Education/Certification(s)

• 2–4 years of professional design experience — required
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience — required
• Demonstrated portfolio of design work across print and digital formats — preferred
• Prior experience in a church, nonprofit, or ministry environment — preferred

General Physical Requirements

• Sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Occasionally kneel or crouch
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
