Job summary

BHI Senior Living invites you to join our corporate design team as a Graphic Design Intern for the 2026 spring cohort. You’ll craft print and digital materials, follow brand guidelines, and gain exposure across departments and communities at our Central Office in Indiana.

You’ll use Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to develop visuals, apply typography, color theory, and layout, and prepare production-ready files while collaborating with teammates and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a design degree.
  • Portfolio demonstrates creativity and design skills.
  • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Create visually engaging designs for print and digital platforms using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Apply typography, color theory, layout, and branding to produce cohesive materials.
  • Prepare files to meet production standards, ensuring correct bleed and formats.
  • Contribute fresh ideas and concepts to campaigns and projects.
  • Maintain brand guideline consistency across deliverables.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support goals.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines with organization and reliability.
  • Communicate design concepts clearly and accept feedback constructively.
  • Demonstrate initiative and grow design skills through practice.

What You'll Do:

BHI Senior Living is looking for a Graphic Design Intern to join spring intern cohort for 2026. This immersive opportunity will give hands-on, real-world experience working at our corporate office with exposure to our communities and departments.

The Intern will focus on:

Create visually engaging designs for both print and digital platforms using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

Apply design principles such as typography, color theory, layout, and branding to produce professional, cohesive materials.

Prepare and format files to meet production standards, ensuring accuracy in resolution, bleed, and file formats.

Contribute creative concepts and fresh ideas to design projects and campaigns.

Maintain consistency with established brand guidelines across all design deliverables.

Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to support project goals.

Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while staying organized and dependable.

Communicate design concepts clearly and receive feedback constructively.

Demonstrate initiative and a positive, can-do attitude while growing design skills.

Showcase creativity and technical skills through the development and presentation of design work.

Who You Are:
Required:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree inGraphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related design field
  • Proficiency inCanvaandAdobe Creative Suite(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, color, layout, and branding
  • Basic knowledge ofprint and digital production standards(bleed, resolution, file formats)
  • Portfolio that demonstrates creativity and design skills (class projects welcome)
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow brand guidelines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks or deadlines
  • Positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to contribute fresh, creative ideas
  • Willing and able to commute to the BHI Central Office and any of the BHI Communities
