Job Description

TITLE: Graphic Desgin & Digital Accessiblity Specialist

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
  • Work Experience: Three years of professional design experience
  • Licensure or Certification: N/A
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop print media, including but not limited to brochures, posters, signs, newsletters, and special publications.
  • Maintain compliance with the district brand and graphic guidelines.
  • Support the design and visual elements of the DMPS website and other district schools and program channels and sites.
  • Assist with coordinating other graphic design projects, such as school logos, signs, DMPS social media pages, and related materials assigned.
  • Lead the effort to maintain accessibility standards across district websites by partnering with vendors and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Keep up to date on current and emerging graphic design and accessibility standards.
  • Attend evening events to assist with the design and construction of visually appealing spaces that welcome staff, students, and families.
  • Maintain professional learning and growth through professional organizations, seminars, course work, and collaboration.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Job Summary

The Graphic Designer and Digital Accessibility Specialist produces high-quality visual content across print and digital platforms while leading district-wide efforts to ensure websites and digital materials meet federal accessibility standards. This position plays a dual role: crafting compelling design work that advances the DMPS brand and connects the district with students, families, staff, and the broader community and working to ensure that all digital content is equitable and accessible to every audience the district serves. Using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and accessibility evaluation platforms, this professional creates a wide range of materials including brochures, publications, social media content, and web assets. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-directed professional who brings both design excellence and accessibility expertise, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated graphic design experience including but not limited to marketing, promotional, and informational pieces, billboards, social media content, event branding, and logo development.
  • Proficiency in WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of digital storytelling and how it is related to content design.
  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Ability to recognize and champion meaningful content opportunities in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of current social media trends, platform algorithms, audience behaviors, and emerging digital content strategies.
  • Knowledge of accessibility platforms designed to help the district meet federal guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently or collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time?effectively, and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license with a driving record that aligns with the district’s motor vehicle record requirement while employed.
  • Ability to work a varied work schedule as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
  • Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
