Job description

Join to apply for the Graphic Artist I role at New York City Police Department.

The NYPD is committed to enhancing the quality of life in New York City through community partnership, law enforcement, and strategic innovation. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI) seeks to hire a web developer with the following duties:

  1. Layout and graphic design for Spring 3100 Magazine;
  2. Collaborate with design and editorial teams;
  3. Implement website layouts, content updates, and new features.

WORK LOCATION: 1PP, ROOM 1320, CMD 524

WORK SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri, 0900 to 1700 hours

Minimum Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree in fine or graphic arts and one year of full-time paid experience as a graphic artist; or
  • A high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of technical training in art media and three years of relevant experience.

To qualify for Assignment Level II, candidates need at least one year of experience at Level I or additional specialized experience.

Preferred Skills

Solid knowledge of graphic design and magazine layout, proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, and ability to provide a portfolio upon request.
