Job summary

Appnovation is seeking a Data Architect / Engineer to join a talented team and own the data structures behind our knowledge graph, building resilient ingestion pipelines from SharePoint and the Microsoft stack.

You will define the schema, taxonomy, and graph models, ensure data quality, and collaborate on architectural decisions, best practices, and scalable solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CS or related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering/architecture roles.
• Deep data modeling across relational and graph paradigms (Neo4j, Postgres).
• Strong Python ETL and data pipeline engineering.
• Experience with SharePoint and Power Platform / Power Automate.
• Knowledge representation and versioned/temporal data.
• Understanding of data feeding into RAG and LLM retrieval quality.
• SQL proficiency; orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Data governance, security and privacy practices.
• Excellent documentation and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Define the schema, taxonomy, and graph modeling for knowledge domains.
• Design how documents and versions are structured, including temporal replay.
• Build ingestion/ETL pipelines from SharePoint and Microsoft stack.
• Keep the knowledge graph in sync as source documents change.
• Advise on backend approach (Supabase/Postgres) and validate content quality.
• Establish data quality, lineage, and governance standards.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and error-handling for ingestion jobs.
• Document data models, schemas, and pipeline architecture.
• Optimize pipeline cost, throughput, and reliability over time.
