Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent with 2 years of professional experience.
  • Master’s or PhD in a STEM discipline
  • Superior editing and proofreading skills
  • 3 years of experience editing scientific/academic writing
  • 5 years of experience working with academic faculty
  • Broad lay knowledge of academic research
  • Demonstrated breadth of academic interests
  • Knowledge of the federal grant landscape
  • Experience writing, developing, editing, administering, or contributing to grant proposals to NSF and NIH
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, advising, or instructing in an academic setting
  • Public speaking ability

Responsibilities

  • Assist academic research faculty in developing funding strategies and grant narratives.
  • Develop grantsmanship workshops and outreach to the university.
  • Coordinate large multi-institution proposals and edit documents for clarity and compliance.
