Job summary

Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking two full-time Grants Administrator professionals to join the Office of Research & Innovation. The role partners with SOHS, CASE, and CBE to manage pre- and post-award activities, write proposals, and ensure funder compliance.

Responsibilities include grant research, proposal development, budgeting, hiring coordination, and regular reporting to funders. Strong writing and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of grant-related administration experience.
• Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or grants management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related tools.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Interest in the mission of Winston-Salem State University.

Responsibilities

• Lead grant proposal development and submission for pre-award activities.
• Research local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
• Build relationships with faculty, funders, and partners.
• Draft proposals and budgets with Sponsored Programs teams.
• Manage post-award tasks: purchasing, hiring, and reporting.
• Monitor grant budgets and generate spending reports.
• Maintain compliance and timely funder reporting.
• Prepare progress reports and data for funders.
