Job summary

The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa is seeking a Research Support Manager to lead the development, submission, and post-award administration of grants and contracts. You will coordinate proposals, budgets, and compliance across multiple programs and work closely with faculty and staff on complex funding initiatives.

The role requires strong grants management experience, superb communication, and the ability to navigate university policies and sponsor requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with research administration experience (Master’s desirable).
• 3–5 years administrative, supervisory and/or program experience.
• 3–5 years experience working with administrative budgets.
• Experience with grants management and database systems.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and computer skills; willingness to travel overnight/weekend.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre- and post-award administration of grants and contracts.
• Coordinate grant submissions and ensure compliance with policies and sponsor requirements.
• Monitor budgets and prepare reports for principal investigators and leadership.
• Provide supervision and training for staff involved in grants administration.
• Support strategic planning and reporting for the cancer center programs.
