Job summary

Foundation for a Just Society (FJS) seeks a US Southeast Program Associate to support grantee partners and the regional grantmaking strategy from its New York base.

The role requires translating materials, coordinating proposals, tracking grants, and traveling domestically. The candidate should have a strong background in gender justice, LGBTQI rights, and experience in nonprofit program administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field.
• At least three years of experience in program roles within human rights and social justice nonprofit or philanthropic sectors.
• Familiarity with gender justice; women’s, girls’ and LGBTQI rights; and trends in the US Southeast.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact and information resource for grantee.
• Assist the US Southeast program officer with solicitations for proposals.
• Review proposals, reports, and related documents for accuracy and adherence to policy.
• Assist with grants monitoring and ensure required documentation is submitted on time.
• Update and maintain accuracy of grantmaking information in the grants system.
• Contribute to the analysis of progress and final reports from grantees.
• Translate and coordinate translation of proposals and materials as needed.
• Develop and refine grantmaking strategies and portfolio.
• Stay informed on developments in gender justice and LGBTQI rights in the region.
