Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks | Mon-Fri 8a-5p | Work From Home

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing all pre-award stages of the grant lifecycle for all federal, state, city, county and private foundation grants. Oversees the prospective funding research, interprets funding opportunity components distilling to the most relevant information, and guides CentraCare leadership in decisions to pursue or not. Leads internal Project Champion and the grant project team through internal approval protocols to ensure strategic alignment and organizational capacity to shoulder internal, regulatory, and funder-defined requirements. This position serves as the collaborating liaison between Grants Administration, Project Champion, cross divisionally and with external partners and subject matter experts in developing innovative and compelling grant proposals with the highest chance for being funded while advancing the mission of CentraCare.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree English, Business, Communications or related field required. (Commensurate experience may be considered.)
  • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit development and/or management.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in grant acquisition and/or project management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strategic, operational, and technical management skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare/research environment, nonprofit or higher education.
  • Previous experience in project management.
  • Adept database management skills and/or familiarity with industry software packages (Foundant, Blackbaud).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel including the ability to collect, arrange, and represent data accurately required.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Application, including Outlook, Word, Power Point and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable speaking with executives and providing distilled, relevant information.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, effectively address overlapping projects and deadlines and remain adaptable and reliable in face of conflict or changing priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of calm, humor, and a positive, solution-oriented approach.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential from the Grant Professionals Certification Institute and the Grant Professionals Association preferred.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee prospective funding research and recommendations in response to strategic priorities by monitoring major government and private sector agencies on a regular basis.
  • Research, review and screen potential funding opportunities- federal, state, private, and other sources.
  • Coordinate regular strategic discussions with divisional leaders learning their strategic plan priorities and then proactively searching for appropriate grant opportunities.
  • Interpret funding opportunities on a regular basis to accurately assess funder intent, and then create synopsis of the funding opportunity distilling the most important information, including pro and con inferences for CC, and communicate that to appropriate leadership as well as administrative and clinical staff guiding CentraCare leaders in the decision process if the opportunity should be pursued or not.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts in developing content for State, federals and private foundation grant applications to funding agencies such as HRSA, USDA, Bush, Robert Wood Johnson, SAMHSA, CDC.
  • Guide internal Project Champion in crafting the proposal (review proposal narrative, advise on format, ensure accurate and appropriate data sources, edit and revisions as needed).
  • Develop budget and budget narrative, ensuring strategic alignment and compliance with regulatory agencies. Ensure allocation of dollars in accordance with project priorities, GA best practices, system parameters, and funder requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain proposal preparation timelines, Gantt charts and other process management tools based on funder requirements and GA best practices to eliminate unintended roadblocks to guide applications toward proposal submission. Completes analysis to estimate effort required for each task. Ensure all items requested by the funder are assembled in final proposal package.
  • Analyze and compile information; prepare written and oral reports; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ensure descriptive language is used in grant proposals and reports with quantitative narrative and statistical data to support the project.
  • Develop a list of potential funders for the project and/or advise Project Champion how to research for possible funders.
  • Collaborate with Grants Post-Award Consultant to coordinate acknowledgment and announcement of award, grant project kick-off meetings with key personnel and partners, set up of financial protocols for funder and CC needs (which can vary) and work with internal partners appropriate to the grant objectives to ensure full and timely implementation.
