Position overview and responsibilities are described below.

Duties

• Provide research administrative and financial management support to the Department of Dermatology.
• Oversee proposal development, budget development, and related pre-award activities for a diverse sponsor portfolio.
• Manage post-award activities including account setup, monitoring grant expenditures for compliance and financial analysis, and grant closeout.
• Generate monthly financial reports for investigators and departmental leadership.
• Meet with investigators to discuss and advise on issues related to their portfolio.
• Assist in the preparation of effort reports and maintain salary grids in coordination with the payroll coordinator.
• Grants Manager B: participate more independently in specific projects (e.g., annual budget submission) and manage complicated grants (program projects, training grants, large projects with multiple subcontracts).
• Engage in strategic planning and contribute to broader grants management efforts as part of a greater experience level.
• Report to the Senior Research Administrator and act as a liaison to the Perelman School of Medicine administration and Research Services offices; dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Qualifications

• Grants Manager A: Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of grant administration/accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Grants Manager B: Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of grant administration/accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Both: Strong proficiency in university financial and research administration systems preferred; ability to work independently; excellent written, organizational, and communication skills.
