Job summary

The Skoll Foundation is seeking a Managing Director of Grants Management in Washington, DC for a hybrid role. The position leads grants lifecycle, policy development, and vendor partnerships, with responsibility for a ~$100 million annual grantmaking portfolio.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will guide system improvements, data governance, and internal controls, while supporting the Grants Manager and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in grants management, nonprofit, and/or an operations environment with grantmaking responsibilities.
• 5+ years in foundation grants management or grantmaking operations.
• Strong knowledge of IRS expenditure requirements and private foundation grantmaking complexities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the grants management team and strategy for the Foundation’s grantmaking operations.
• Oversee pre- and post-award activities, including review, payments, and reporting.
• Coordinate with Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Serve as relationship manager with the Foundation’s grantmaking partner and supervise the Grants Manager.
