Democracy Fund in Washington, DC is seeking a Just and Inclusive Society Project Assistant to support the Associate Director and the JIS project for one year. The role emphasizes cross-sector engagement, civil rights focus, and collaborative work across the political spectrum.

You will help with grants coordination, due diligence, data analysis, and grantee engagement, including site visits and evaluation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, with at least 2 years of related work or equivalent experience.
• Interest in advocacy, civil rights, and civil liberties.
• Proven analytical and research skills.
• Ability to work across the political spectrum with diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Support the Just and Inclusive Society project team with substantive and administrative tasks.
• Review grant materials and assist with due diligence and documentation.
• Coordinate with grantees, site visits, and data collection for reports.
• Assist in building political power and resilience for diverse communities.
• Support Democracy Fund Voice activities as needed.
• Contribute to grantmaking processes and internal communications.
