Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Grants Administrator I within the Research Administration Center of Excellence (RACE) is responsible for supporting post-award research activities, working closely with assigned departments and their RACE Associate Directors. The role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting TJU Principal Investigators (PIs) with grant financial management, and developing a career in research administration.

Essential Functions:
- Review awards for compliance and budget accuracy
- Establish and monitor project accounts
- Communicate regularly with PIs about financial status
- Maintain accurate accounting records
- Reconcile accounts monthly
- Coordinate personnel and purchasing activities
- Assist PIs with effort reports and budget development
- Support submission of reports and compliance documentation
- Serve as a resource to staff and faculty on policy adherence
- Attend training and professional development sessions

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in related field required; Bachelor’s preferred
- 1-2 years of research administration experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Strong communication and analytical skills
