Job summary

University of California, Davis is seeking a Research Administrator to provide extramural planning and budget analysis, supporting pre- and post-award processes, and advising PIs and departmental leadership. The role involves budget construction, forecasting, and compliance within a large engineering department.

The position is hybrid (on-site and remote), located in Davis, CA, and reports to the CAO. Qualifications include a BA/BS, GAAP knowledge, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Experience with accounting, mathematics, financial skills and controls, including financial analysis, forecasting, auditing, cost accounting and project management.
• Experience researching, mining, and summarizing information to prepare budgets and forecasting reports using spreadsheets.
• Experience coordinating and supporting projects requiring presenting and managing statistical and financial information in user-friendly formats.
• Computer knowledge to apply word processing, spreadsheets, databases and enterprise software.
• Knowledge of GAAP for fiscal responsibilities.
• Strong planning and analytical skills to anticipate challenges, ensure compliance and correct discrepancies.
• Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal parties and provide solutions.
