Job summary

The Road Home Dane County in Madison, WI, is seeking a Grants & Development Manager to lead our grants program and expand fundraising from corporate and institutional partners. This full-time role sits in a four-person Development & Communications team, coordinating with leadership to secure diverse, reliable resources and guide grant writing and reporting.

This exempt position supports community engagement, sponsorships, and events, with occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of grant writing/management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Five+ years of nonprofit fundraising or related experience preferred
• Experience with corporate entities in relationship-based fundraising preferred
• Proficiency in grants prospecting and management tools preferred
• Experience with faith-based organizations preferred
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and online interfaces preferred
• Strong track record of project management success preferred
• Experience and interest in homelessness and housing issues preferred
• People with lived experience of homelessness are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Lead Grants program management, including strategy, writing, and reporting
• Manage corporate and community engagement activities and sponsorships
• Coordinate development campaigns and annual fundraising events
• Develop and maintain relationships with funders and donors
• Support communications and volunteer engagement across programs
• Promote a culture of belonging and ethical fundraising
