Job summary

South Carolina Office of the Attorney General is seeking a grant program coordinator to assist in coordinating, developing, and implementing grant programs for crime victim assistance. You will prepare solicitations for VOCA, VAWA, SVAP, and SAVS in line with federal directives and ensure program effectiveness through reporting and data management.

The role includes compiling data, coordinating with subrecipients, and participating in state-level meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in health, social services, or related field.
  • Five years of relevant experience required.

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, assist in the coordination, development, and implementation of grant programs for the Department of Crime Victim Assistance Grants.

  • Collects data, compiles technical research reports and relates information to current statewide system needs/gaps to establish funding priorities in victim services. Develops the strategic planning document for the VAWA program to guide decision making by identifying service gaps and needs based the on-ongoing collection of data.
  • Prepares state solicitations for VOCA, VAWA, SVAP, and SAVS in accordance with federal regulations and policy directives. Assesses project goals, objectives, and evaluation components to assure program effectiveness, efficiency, and outcomes are incorporated in all funded projects. Reviews submitted applications and prepares Summaries and Recommendations for Public Safety Coordinating Council.
  • Prepares and submits all federal victims’ programs reports in accordance with federal requirements, including benchmarks and performance measures to be included in the reports. Responsible for submitting annual VAWA application and other required documents.
  • Collects and verifies subrecipient federal performance measurement data prior to submission. Evaluates all reports that are submitted through the Performance Management Tool (PMT) quarterly as required by federal guidelines to ensure accurate and complete data is provided by all sub-recipients.
  • Organizes all press events for the Department. Coordinates with subrecipients, OAG staff, and others to organize press events throughout the state promoting VOCA, VAWA, SVAP, and SAVS grant projects.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and five years of relevant experience in health, social services, or related fields.

Additional Requirements
  • Position may require overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for this position.
  • Must be able to give presentations at various state, local, and national meetings and conferences.
  • Must be able to understand, relate to, assist, and interface with local, state, and national criminal justice, victim services, and other agencies.
