Job summary

Virginia Tech's Office of Sponsored Programs seeks a part-time Contracts Support Specialist to help faculty and staff prepare contracts, grants, subawards, and award changes. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory awareness, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The position is hybrid with weekly on-campus presence and a telework agreement per Policy 4325. OSP supports research administration and compliance across federal, state, and sponsor requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or coursework in accounting, AIS, auditing, finance, or research administration.
• Professional-level administrative support and/or customer service experience.
• Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and email clients.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work both individually and as a team member.
• Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to notice and correct errors and inconsistencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty and the Office of Sponsored Programs in preparing documents and materials for contracts, grants, subawards and award change requests.
• Organize large volumes of information and collaborate with others to deliver consistent results to stakeholders.
