Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation, History or Public History field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in historic preservation or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary grants coordinator for the Metropolitan Historical Commission staff, seeking funding opportunities, developing proposals, and managing the full grant life cycle.
  • Coordinates the Davidson County Cemetery Survey program, including site visits, surveys, file organization, and preservation planning.
  • Develops and implements community outreach and engagement opportunities.
  • Provides staff support for signature events, including Nashville Conference on African American History & Culture and Preservation Awards.
  • Responds to inquiries from the public and officials; contributes preservation content to newsletters and social media.
  • Represents the department at public meetings and attends required trainings and meetings.
  • Attends and reports for monthly commission and team meetings.
  • Manages special projects and research requests related to countywide surveys and NRHP eligibility determinations.
