Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a Grants Analyst to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient fiscal administration of IDEM's grants portfolio. You will support all phases of the grant life cycle, from application through closeout, acting as the financial liaison between program staff and leadership.

A degree is not required, but 8+ years of accounting/financial analysis experience with supervisory exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal social service program accounting, budgeting, and applicable laws, policies and procedures.
• Broad knowledge and ability to use automated financial reporting systems such as PeopleSoft Financials.
• Advanced computer skills in Excel, Access, Encompass and Hyperion.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and research funding activities related to state and federal sources to ensure proper expenditure and revenue handling.
• Monitor and analyze personnel costs using statistical and quantitative methods.
• Prepare and manage annual and biennial budgets.
• Recommend changes to operating programs, budgets, and workflows for efficient fund use.
• Coordinate training for program and finance managers on budget monitoring.
