Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and four years of full-time clerical accounting or auditing work including at least one year similar to Accounting Technician 1.
• Substitution of Experience for Education: qualifying clerical accounting or auditing experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitution of Education for Experience: accounting coursework may substitute for experience under defined conditions; no substitution for the one year specialized experience.

Responsibilities

• Calculates appropriate federal funding to be reimbursed to the state and processes paycheck modifications, requisitions and vouchers.
• Calculates invoice totals, account adjustments, and purchases; generates reports and assigns asset tags to property and software.
• Researches outstanding checks, overpayments, and underpayments; analyzes federal grant activity and related documentation.
• Manages complaints from internal and external customers with clear information and possible actions.
• Audits state credit card purchases and inventories; reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitors contracts, grant disbursement websites, and daily reports; tracks balances and personnel timesheets.
