Job description

Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Biopharmaceutical Accelerator (CARB-X) is a global non-profit partnership under the School of Law, dedicated to accelerating antibacterial research to address the rising threat of drug-resistant bacteria. The CARB-X portfolio is the world's largest early development pipeline of new antibiotics, vaccines, rapid diagnostics, and other products to prevent, diagnose, and treat life-threatening bacterial infections. Supported by multiple government and foundation funders, CARB-X operates in an innovative, dynamic, and rapidly evolving environment.

Position Overview

The Senior Finance and Research Administrator supports the Finance & Research Administration (FRA) team at CARB-X, overseeing financial functions and award management responsibilities. This role manages an assigned portfolio of Product Developers (PDs) funded by CARB-X, handling all pre- and post-award activities, including processing, setup, monitoring, and reporting obligations with various external sources.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partner with internal teams (Executive, Project Management, Legal, Compliance, Communication, Research & Development) and external stakeholders to ensure award management, compliance, and financial operations align with research and development plans and the mission of CARB-X.
  2. Support PD management, improve business processes, and assist with financial operations to ensure effective portfolio management.
  3. Report to the Associate Director, Finance & Research Administration, and play a critical role in financial oversight and operational support.
Qualifications and Skills

This position offers a hybrid remote work arrangement with occasional in-person meetings. Applicants outside the Boston area will be considered. Please note that no visa sponsorship is available for this role.
