Job summary

California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) seeks an Associate Accounting Analyst to handle complex accounting duties related to payments processing and financial management of state and federal grants. The role requires extensive FI$Cal experience, rigorous fiscal education, and strong writing skills.

Working within the Local Grants Assistance Division, the analyst will monitor grant program finances, prepare federal reports, and support the State Financial Statements with

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of FI$Cal (Financial Information System of California).
• Strong fiscal education and background.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Be responsive to the needs of the public and CalOES employees and other agencies.
• Ability to analyze situations and act with initiative and good judgement; work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage payments processing for state and federal grants.
• Monitor financial management of 27 grant programs.
• Reconcile federal fund estimates and prepare quarterly Federal Financial Reports for ~161 grants.
• Assist in completing the State Financial Statements.
• Apply knowledge of FI$Cal, laws, rules, and procedures to daily tasks.
