Job summary

Literacy Council of Fort Bend County in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Grant Writer to support adult education initiatives. You will prepare compelling proposals, manage deadlines, and coordinate with advancement, program, and finance teams to ensure timely submissions.

Reporting to the Director of Advancement, you will research funding opportunities, maintain grant calendars, track outcomes, and prepare required reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field required.
• Proven grant writing experience with foundation, corporate, and government funders.
• Clear, persuasive writing; comfort with budgets and outcome data; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work with program, finance, and advancement colleagues while maintaining grant records.

Responsibilities

• Write and assemble grant proposals for foundation, corporate, and public grants.
• Coordinate project budgets and outcomes with finance and program staff.
• Maintain current case statements, program descriptions, and standard attachments.
