Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Part-Time Grant Writer Consultant for a meaningful and mission-driven nonprofit organization in Chicago advocating for victims of human trafficking. This hybrid/remote opportunity is located in Chicago, IL and offers flexibility with 20 hours per week.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer to support its fundraising efforts through the development of compelling proposals and communications. This role will play a critical part in advancing the organization’s mission by identifying and securing funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grant Writer will collaborate cross-functionally to create strategic, high-impact grant materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs
• Draft and submit high-quality grant proposals, reports, and letters of inquiry (LOIs)
• Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather data and impact stories
• Track deadlines and manage reporting schedules using CRM or grant tracking tools
• Build and steward relationships with funders through professional correspondence
• Assist in fundraising strategy development and grant-related budget planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years demonstrated experience in grant writing with a record of successful awards
• Excellent written communication, research, and editing skills
• Ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, persuasive manner
• Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail
• Comfort using Microsoft Office and donor/grant platforms like Salesforce or Foundant

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
